I'm doing Environmental Science and I've failed a module where there's no summer exam - it's all continuous assessment. It's a 5 credit module, if I pass everything else either in the summer or in repeats, would I still be unable to continue on to next year or would I have to repeat the whole year? Could I just catch up the credits needed next year along with everything else?

Normally where a module is based entirely on continuous assessment there is still a chance to repeat (as far as I'm aware). Lets say you did 3 assignments as part of your CA and failed 2, you would normally have to do two additional assignments over the summer and if you pass those, then it should all be grand. Your grade for that module will be capped at 40% though. If you're not sure, email your lecturer.

Check the book of modules, it should say what the story is for repeats with each module.

Hopefully you'll be able to repeat them over the summer. It's very unlikely you'll be able to do second year while still doing a first year module though. Check if your course does pass by compensation if you didn't fail by much.
