    Hi all
A mate of mine is putting in foundations for a shed. Nothing out of the ordinary.
9 inch hollow blocks. He will need about 6 cubic meters. He was telling me He and a couple of good friends were going mixing it themselves with a diesel mixer.
A lot of work IMO. He wants to know how to mix it? What ratio of cement/gravel and how many bags of cement will he need? What would it cost to get a ready mix load in?
    Cheers.

not cost effective imo to mix any amount of concete greater than i metre which a lorry driver told me years ago is roughly 20 barrows.it will actually cost you way more to mix it your self

Yeah I agree with ya salt. Will try talk some sense in to him. So thats 120 barrows:eek. What does a meter cube of ready mix cost? about €50-60? If He was doin it himself would He need about 30 bags of cement?

a rough estimate is closer to 70 to 80 euro per metre for a 6 metre load but this will vary in different parts of the country, maybe the costs will add up better for him if the labour is free/cheap anyways will be interested to hear how he gets on whichever method he chooses
