started a new job a few weeks ago. rang the tax office to register. no prob. said the cert will be with my employer within 48 hours. neither my employer or myself received anything. rang the tax office again. said they would send it again. same story. rang them again. girl i was talking to said there had been two attempts to send out the cert but they had'nt gone for some reason. said she would send it again. have to wait until monday to see if my employer received anything. emergency tax is crippling me.
just wondering has anyone encountered the same problem i am having

No problems like that reported lately. Have your employer contact the Revenue Employer's helpline to see why he isn't getting certs.
For you, a paper cert should have gone to your address on file unless you selected receive correspondence electronically via your paye anytime or Ros account. If you did then the cert is in your paye anytime or Ros inbox in PDF format.

That's still not right. W means week one basis. There's still a disconnect somewhere between, Revenue, your employer and you.

If revenue are unsure of you circumstances / earnings from other employments / SW income year to date , they will put you on a week one basis , or they risk giving you extra allowances in error .

All you can do now is declare all documents to them regarding your income this year to date .

did you leave a job to take up this job ? if so give them your P45 .

Do you have a 2nd job with tax credits allocated there . - If so let them know your expected earnings this year .

Were you claiming SW benefit this year , -

If this new job is your only taxable income this year , your situation should be quite straighforward , and they would give you a cumulative .

If there is other income to take into account this year , you will be given a week one tax credit cert to ensure they can be no duplication.
