I'm now the proud owner of a man cave....(had to have the attic converted for my daughter and I got her old room:))

I have my pc set up on one side of the room and my guitars on the other, the thing is the guitars on individual stands take up a big footprint in the room...

So I'm looking to get a 5 guitar stand. Anyone recently purchased one or have one for years and would recommend that particular make where is best place to buy...etc,etc

I use Hercules stands myself, they're generally quite nice and compact.

You can get rotating ones that hold three guitars which take up less room than stand for 5.

If you're worried about floor space would you consider mounting them on the wall? It's something I've been meaning to do for a good while now.

I got a bog standard one on eBay - just search for 5 way guitar stands. I think I paid about 35 euro delivered from the UK. Might not be the most durable for gigging, but for sitting in the corner of the room it serves it's purpose well.

I'm guessing you could pick one up in a music shop, I just went with ebay for convenience.

    Here you go:

What I use for electrics, the take up no room at all and you can pack your guitars close.

Make sure you get something that´s nitro-safe if your guitars are finished that way.

I bought a five slot stand from Waltons for the sake of convenience. I have no idea if it´s nitro-safe nor would I necessarily believe what the people working there say so I just leave my SG in its case.

wall hangers the onl;y way to go.

stands get kicked over too easily.

5 hangers staggered with 3 on the top and two 2 feet lower.

I don´t trust wall hangers. I´ve seen guitars fall from them far too often.

Screw them straight into a stud and you'll be fine.
I have mine up ages and no issues at all.
Don't fasten them to dry wall only. Accident waiting to happen.

    studs are for wimps!

I got rawlbolts on mine, straight into breeze bolcks.

I could do chin ups on 'em!

Be wary if you are lucky enough to have any guitars with a Nitrocellulose finish the dyes in the padding on the stands (and wall hangers) can react with the finish over time and you would be best to tape over the padding.
