Turning me laptop into a make shift cheapo HTPC. Need a wireless keyboard that is big enough that I can type on comfortably on my lap and has a track pad on it but is small enough that it doesn't look to out of place on the couch!

Looking at this but it's a bit fugly. It is cheap tho!

This might be worth a look.

Sound man, saw that one alright but it looks a bit big. Looking for something mid to small sized.

:EDIT: Actually just saw a pic of a dude holding it, it's actually quiet tidy!

these are really good. Built in track pad and charging dock. A little pricey but worth it.

The dinovo edge is a beaut alright but too big and more importantly, too expensive.

The dinovo mini, is it a bit too small? But in saying that it looks great, won't break the bank and is back lit which I think will be important. How much typing will I do on a htpc anyhoo?

The K400 would be a clear but winner if it was backlit but for the price that's too much to ask I'd say.

Thanks guys, some great recommendations, must do some homework on them now!

picked up the K400 in pc world for 39.99 for my android tv box, it's great to have the touchpad, and is a nice neat keyboard, one small downside is the touchpad is pretty sensitive on the android box, possibly easier to adjust different settings on it using a windows OS.

Ill also +1 the k400, no complaints for the htpc, wouldnt type a thesis on it though

If you wont be doing too much typing on it and you have an android device I would highly recommend the unified remote app from the playstore. Has all of the basic functions you would need for a htpc.

Thanks guys. Went with the super cheap M Track Mini HTPC Wireless Keyboard, should be delivered this week. €29 incl delivery. Looks alright, customer reviews on Amazon are positive overall and if it's rubbish, it wasn't expensive.

I'll definitely be getting a Dinovo Mini some time in the future as they seem to be the business but can't afford it now.

Also worth sticking yatse app and widgwt on any android devices you may have.
Depending on what I'm doing with the htpc, yatse is often enough.

I've a K400 for about 18 months now, still going strong on the original set of batteries. No complaints, other than the lack of dedicated media buttons, which you'd think would be a given on this type of keyboard.

What media buttons you looking for?
I use the play, rewind, forward, mute and volume keys (F7 to F12) on my k400 and it controls xbmc perfectly.

Dedicated buttons for the above, rather than function keys, and a volume dial would have been nice. Nothing that would stop me buying another if this were to break though.

its back lit but as soon as you stop typing the lighting turns off, which means you have to turn it on by hitting another key, but stuff like space or return won't trigger the lighting (actually you hit backspace it runs off the lighting I think ) it has to be a text key, which defeats the purpose of back lighting. Key layout is a pain in the arse and the alternate key symbols aren't back lit. Can't recommend it for a dark environment

The enter key on my one is dodgy too and the mouse pad isn't great.

Thanks for that. Glad I didn't spring €70 for one now!

TBH the cheapo M-Track Mini one I bought is doing the job perfectly. All I find myself doing on it is using the tracker ball to click icons really or very occasionally typing in the browser address bar. For €30 I don't think i need anything else! Will post up a pic of it in my hand wen home later, it's actually quite a tidy size.
