    Hi,

My own GP has just moved out of Dublin and I am looking for some recommendations for a new GP or a medical clinic in the Blackrock/Stillorgan/Booterstown area. I am very nervous around Doctors so really looking for a good but caring GP or a medical clinic that has a good reputation. I just have no idea where to start looking with so many options and no reviews online. Female GP preferable.

    Thanks in advance

If you are willing to go a small distance outside your area, I'd recommend Dr Madeleine McCarthy at the Harbour Health clinic in Dun Laoghaire. She used to be with the Dun Laoghaire Surgery practice next door but has branched out and specialises in women's health and all associated matters and has a nurse and midwife on staff.

I saw her at her old practice next door and some female family members would still go to her and rate her highly. Shes very good to deal with, an empathetic and modern professional. I would go as far as to suggest she may help ease your nervousness with Doctors.

    Best of luck
