Is someone winding me up about this place???
Friend of mine told me this the other day!!!

The recently closed Dublin city golf club is now open to the public to play kick golf.

Walking the course kicking a football from the tee boxes into a big oversized hole.

€15 for adults €10 for kids.

Sheep all over the course too.

Even if anyone did try this out, I think the novelty would ware off after 3/4 holes, stupid idea.

I can only hope that there is beer involved/allowed/required!

I spent a couple of months in Chicago once and we played frisbee golf in the evenings. It was actually quite a good game and even had different styles of frisbees for the different shots.

I'm sure the kick is similar and worth a try, although nice weather would be a bonus / must.

i often thought a hurling version of golf would be fairly good but soccer, twud take forever!!!the foot would be broke on ya be the end,u would be gasping for the clubhouse at the end.

I take it they would have to shorten the holes . No way could you kick a ball 200 yards

    TaylorMade announce new Rocket(soccer)Ball, 300yards+

I think the frisbee golf game would actually be good, or at-least better then this.

Saddens to me to see the first club I had ever joined being turned into this footgolf joke.

Prolly a good prelude to a stag or likewise. No real golfer would even think of taking this tripe on imo.

They should approach Etihad or Aon for sponsorship.

I took this tripe on over the weekend !!

It was abit of craic, a pretty good hangover cure, but a tad sad to see a golfcourse run down to the state of disrepair - and flocks of sheep in the rough to contend with if you duckhook some tee-kicks !

They must be doing ok though. They're expanding to Mayo, and talks in way for a Cork course !!

The one in Westport is up and running a few months now.
Haven't been, and couldnt see myself trying it, but its meant to be doing ok.
Should do ok with Stags etc, but from what I see the novelty has worn off with the locals.

Yea we were there as part of a stag. There seemed to be an ok crowd heading out there Saturday. So if it takes a couple of people off the dole then fair play I say !

This probably shouldn't even be in the golf forum but anyway thought I'd report back !

Glad I did it once but wouldn't go out of my way to do it again !!
