Toe cramps while swimming

    Hi guys,

I'm suffering a lot from toe cramps when swimming. Got so bad tonight that I had to stop and leave the pool.

It's not related to fitness as I train a lot -swimming, cycling, running

I've tried drinking plenty of water in advance in case it's dehydration.

Really at my wits end, would love to know the cause and cure.

I'd be very grateful for any advice.

    Thanks,
    Sean.

i used to get that years ago and was told lack of magnesium causes muscle cramps,so i started taking a supplement(can't remember what it was called) ,the cramps stopped ,you will know if it is lack of magnesium if you cramp in other parts of your legs too and it happens mostly when it's cold and or you experience short bouts of dizziness or that shaky weak feeling that some get from hunger, best you ask your doctor just to be on the safe side.

If OP is, you hit the nail on the head. I get it sometimes on long sets and have to be careful not to kick too hard when pushing of the wall.

Also, make sure you are drinking plenty of fluid when swimming.
