If a person had braces and currently wears retainers, how would that affect the work of dental crowns/veneers?

Would a new retainer have to be cast to fit the altered teeth?

Yes a new well fitting retainer would be needed after the crowns are complete. Also if your braces were taken off relativly reciently, the dentist doing the crowns would need to be careful not to allow relapse during the treatment when the retainers dont fit so well.

Your dentist should be well on top of this.
