Handicap certificate for Portugal?

Hi, has anyone been to vilamoura lately and what are the course positions in relation to producing a handicap certificate prior to play. Three of us going shortly. Two others are low single figure handicappers with certificates whereas I'm formerly a 14 handicapper who hasn't had an official GUI handicap for a few years. I still play regularly through a society at work but don't hold membership anymore unfortunately due to cost in the Dublin area. Will this be a problem when I arrive?

Well is it a casual grouping? No comp etc? If so, why don't you borrow a cert from someone else?

Played 4 rounds in villamoura last August and was never asked for my cert. provided you look like a golfer you'll be grand. Borrow a mates cert for piece of mind if you feel the need...

Played 5 courses over the last two years and never asked for a handicap certificate.

Played three courses two weeks ago and we were not asked for handicap certs.

Go there twice a year if possible, for the last 15 years, and have only been asked for one on three occasions. Casual rounds shouldn't be a problem but I would always make sure to have one just in case (or, as already advised, just borrow one).
Just make sure if you borrow one it doesn't say 'Jim Murphy' as your mates call you by your real name at check-in (as happened to me once!) or you hand over your credit card with a different name on it!
For the record, the three courses were Pinheiros Altos, The Old Course and Vale do Lobo.... although have played them all on other occasions and wasn't asked. Maybe I didn't look too hungover then! :p

Have played all the Oceanico courses near Vilamoura & have never been asked for a Cert.
Generally speaking, only the most expensive tracks will ask, and then only randomly.
Take advice as before & borrow a Cert.

Thanks for the reply's. We will just be playing casual rounds, no competitions. I'll try and borrow one to have in the bag just in case.

Sure why don't you just go to word and do one up for yourself
