Swimsuit

    All,

    I need some help.

I want to start swimming in the pool across the road, but I can't find a plain swimsuit that can deal with my large chest. All the plus size ones have skirts or have frilly bits or stupid straps that will not hold anything in.
This is to swim laps a few times a week, not for lounging around a pool or the beach, I need it to be functional, not pretty.

I'm a size 18-20 now and I'm hoping that will drop after a few months of swimming so I don't want to spend a fortune on a suit either.
I did buy a slazenger one from sports direct, who go up to a size 20, but there wasn't enough coverage and I'd be more conscious of that than waddling around in a swimsuit with my fat behind!!

    Does anyone have any ideas?

Bravissimo have a range of sports swimwear especially for women with larger chests.

Have you tried m&s? They do a post surgery swimwear range with extra coverage and support which might suit you?

Edited to add... I have this tesco swimsuit and have big boobs. I find it good because it has some padding up top, and the crossed back is good for actually swimming, straps don't come down. I go through a lot of swimwear, as I use a chorine pool twice a week, so they get wrecked. It's not the best ever (the pads fold in the wash) But it's cheap and does the job.

I got a plain black one in Tesco around 2 years ago for less than a tenner that I liked. I'm a DD-E cup and it fitted fine.
Debenhams Gorgeous do a range by cup size as well - I have a couple of tankinis from there that I use on holiday.

    Thanks All.

I had a wander around M&S - all the larger sized ones that I found on the rails are all really fussy and don't seem very practical.

I'll have to pop into tescos & Debenhams next week and have a look around.

not an ideal solution but you could wear a supportive bra style bikini top underneath a sporty/practical suit. I used to work at a pool and saw a number of women doing this, I always assumed it was to give their chests more support when swimming.

Once you are down to your goal size you could invest in an expensive/supportive suit?

I have this and it survived my massive pregnancy boobs and to the best of my knowledge I never had a wardrobe malfunction.

I'm 8 months pregnant and in a maternity swimsuit. It just does not contain my chest and it looks pretty obscene - just very low cut and not supportive at all.

I bought some little black tight fitting crop tops in penneys to wear under it and cover up the boobs and it works well. Much more support and covers everything up. That could be an option for you?
