    Hi.

Seen adverts for a service that allows you to buy Sky Sports for a day rather than sign up for an annual package.

Only thing I can find on Sky's website implies that this is available in UK. Anybody know if it is available, or will be available in Ireland?

Especially in time for the Lions tests. :)

I was told it wasn't available here. There are other ways of course to watch the lions but can't talk about it here.

I think its a great idea, I'd pay for the odd days over a year for a munster match etc, they'd make some extra money but might loose out on revenue long term if people decided against a full sub, but I'd happily pay e10 per day occassionally

If you have Sky, you can sign up for Sky Sports for 1 month. Just make that clear to the Sales Advisor.

I thought I read somewhere that they had stopped that.

Nope. It's still done very regularly, there's no rules against it.

I did this about a month ago, no issues.

£10 for an internet stream for 1 day is some rip off. If it was for a weekend pass it might make sense but as its only one day your basically paying £10 to probably watch one major sporting event.

Most streams can be found for free and if you can avoid the result for a couple of hours you can download it in HD off the torrents.

I wouldn't make a habit of it but I'm interested in it only as event viewing. Watching Internet streams on a laptop is not the same as projecting HD on to a large screen and having a few lads round to watch the test over breakfast: full Irish, sticky buns and in the event of a good result, maybe a pint or two. :D

The rest of the time I'd either go to the pub or ....do something else. ;)

Hopefully it comes in here. There are plenty of days during the year when it is well worth 10 euro for the. For me personally I can have a decent Sunday and then 2 NFL Games in the evening. Its a good 11-12 hours of top class entertainment.

Over the xmas period I usually pay for a months subscription over Sky GO and watch it on the xbox. It is well worth it over December and early January

Oh, I see what you did there.... Very good.

Seriously though this is a rip off. Think about it. How many test games are there, 3? That's 30 euro. How much is sky for month?

There about4 weeks of NFL every month and also tnf but lets ignore that one cause it's a week night and your not gona pay 10 euro for it. Sundays will cost 40 euro. How much is a months subscription to sky and you get access to Thursday night football.
