    Hi all,

I have this idea of supplying a product to weddings, I am hoping to get in contact with any hotels to see if they think its a good idea... anybody associated with a hotel on here that I could chat to and bounce the idea off?

    This would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Cian

I would be weary of bouncing the idea off people in hotels as they may just decide to do it themselves and get first mover advantage. My advice would be to contact your local enterprise board and book an appointment, they will happily discuss it with you and give you ideas and feedback, they may also have some contacts that will be useful to you. Best of luck with the idea

Cheers blindside..... Thats what I was thinking

I had gone to the local enterprise bored and meet a number of successful business people but the advised me was to get in touch with hotels to see what they thought and was it feasible.... Catch 22 eh?!

Ah fair enough, your on the right track so, is there a lot of capital involved in getting it set up? If not I'd get the wheels in motion and have it ready to go if they're interested. That way you can hit the ground running, the last thing you want is 2 or 3 hotels interested and you being a couple of months from starting. Obviously if there is a lot of capital involved this is not an option

ring weddingsonline and see how much it is to advertise with them. youll need to know this if you want to be serious about it unless you want to start a word-of-mouth business to see how you get on first. If your business involves a significant capital outlay though, youll want to maximise that outlay and investment and market it properly which will mean hitting the big websites and wedding fairs. As a vendor myself, these costs can get big and you have to be able to weather the long term return.

Example, it might cost you 2-3000 a year on WOl, 1200-1500 for a decent stall at citywest fair or more at the RDS one. some of the hotels do a lot cheaper stalls but wont get the exposure the big fairs have. youll have to do them all if youre serious about giving your business the best chance of surviving yet might need upwards of 18-24 months for a return on the investment as you wait for weddings bookings to come in to repay it.
