Car insurance quotation query

I just rang Allianz for a quote and the figure that I was given includes a discount because I have a Pet policy with Allianz already.
I then went onto the website which advertises a 14% discount for new policies. So I thought that this would mean that I would get a reduction for having the pet policy plus another 14% for the new policy. However there was no section to enter in the fact that I had an existing policy. As a result the quote was more expenisive than the phone quotation!
I rang to query this and was told that the online quote already includes a reduction of 14% so the fact that I have a pet policy would not apply.
Surely this cannot be allowed???
It means that if I buy insurance online I am treated as another joe soap who has no other policies with Allianz.
I am a bit annoyed over this now
