Marrochi First

The Marrochi First is primarily a game gun, the one I would like has a 26 six inch barrel, would this be ok for the occasional clay shoot?

I would appreciate your views, and any alternative gun for around 800- 1000. I know you can get a second hand Beretta or Browning, but I would like a new gun.

    Look forward to your replies.

Any 12 gauge over and under is great for both hunting and clay as for the marrochi i have no experience with them. Would you have allot of experience shooting. As regards barrel length i consider it purely a personal choice, iv always found beretta a very tight gun. New is not always better unless you enjoy the hours breaking her in.

I was looking at one a while back, absolutely beautiful gun and I was very close to putting a deposit on it :o It was a 26" m/c which would have been perfect for clays and game even though it was a game gun !

I had a marocchi U/O years ago, and I got rid of it after a few months. didn't think much of it to be honest. that was years ago, so they might be a bit better now.
the main problem you will find with using a game gun for clays will be weight, game guns will usually be lighter, and if you are shooting a 100 bird shoot, they will get pretty hot and the recoil gets worse as they heat up.

the 26' barrels wont be a massive problem, but you will just need to take the birds a bit closer. most trap shooters would be using 28-30' barrels.
