Trinity Hall Accomodation

Was planning to stay in Cork but if it all goes against me, I have this and UCD as a back up.

    1. How and when can I apply for a room at Trinity Hall?
    2. Is it an apartment situation? If so, do they put you with people on your course? I want to study General Nursing.
    3. Where is Trinity Hall?
    4. I am 21 and don't want to be roomed with a gang of 18 year olds. More 20-22. How could I assert that when being roomed?
    5. Would prefer a double bed with ensuite or ensuite room. Are those options available?

    Please help. Website not clear!

    1. Presuming your an incoming first year you cannot apply until after accepting CAO offer, it is done online
    2. Yeh, most of them are i believe 6 bedrooms to an apartment, bedrooms being ensuite with shared kitchen. (With the exception of cunningham house, the older part which i dunno about). Sometimes people in your course, sometimes not, depends on the course, see q4.
    3. Top of Rathmines essentially, Google maps is your friend, literally type in trinity halls
    4. When you apply you apply with a personal statement, listing hobbies etc so they try match people that fit into the community/get along in an apartment hopefully, mention that in the statement
    5. Think it is single ensuite or shared ensuite. Shared ensuite is sharing a bedroom, probably dont do this unless your applying for it with someone, cause i certainly wouldnt want to be sharing a bedroom with someone i hadnt known for the year!

Thanks very much! Ok but what if you do get a place through CAO and apply for accommodation. Surely not everybody gets accommodation do they?
Definately prefer my own room. Yeah never know with some hawks!

Don't mean to sound like a nan, but I've done the whole party scene and I've heard stories of roommates in UCC constantly partying and their other roommates not being able to study etc. Not that I'm opposed to a night out but...have heard dreadful stories!
Is that all taken into account on personal statement?

Nah but theres a fairly good chance i think....

Yeh thats all taken into account, they try match people, but obviously in alot of instances it doesnt work out, but they try, security are fairly tight on parties aswell, no noise after 11 kinda thing so there'll be preseshs and all but everyone heads out then!

Can you get apartments with specific people? Hoping to go there next year with a few of my friends and would prefer to share an apartment. I know you can't be guaranteed but can you request?

I'm pretty sure they don't let you share a whole apartment with people who are all friends. The most I can guarantee is that you can specify you want to share a room with someone you already know. (I shared a room this year with a friend from secondary school)

Trust me, Trinity halls is a really small place, if your friends are in different apartments then you'll still see each other loads. Also it's much much better to get to know new people through sharing an apartment with them.

No, it's only 3 of us going there. Just wondering do they take it into consideration
