I have this caliper with Deore LX Dual control lever. They're great - no adjustment needed (after the initial one) and braking is really reliable. Resin pads break in quickly, but squeak when wet. Haven't tried sintered yet. Shifter/handle is super smooth, with good modulation.

BTW, have you ever used Dual Control shifters? It may take some time to get used to reversed action, unless you are getting a reversed derailer as well.

I assume you're getting them cheap/second hand. Those models are nearly a decade old at this stage.

I never had or used that type of brakes before I'm afraid.

Are there different types of brake pads you can use - I think you mentioned two, but than again I don't have that much knowledge so Im not sure what you mean :)

do you have experiance with these kind of shifters/Brakes, they are cold dual control and some hate them and some love them, generally I'd say that those are old models, if you get them really cheap, worth a try, but I would not pay a lot for them

This is an old model indeed, but pads are still available (both OEM and 3rd party) and there is not much benefit in newer hydraulic technology. There are two general types of brake pads - sintered and resin (organic), there is plenty of info about them all around the net.

If you're in Dublin area we can meet some afternoon so you can see them in action before you buy.

    BTW - I wouldn't pay more than e50 for caliper+shifter, e90 for front+back.
