Was going to post the description below as a thread but thought I'd respond directly ... it all still applies, but have a drummer sorted (albeit that we haven't actually got together yet - work!!)

South dublin/nth Wicklow based middle aged (mid 40s) guitar and keyboard player looking for rhythm section for casual jam Sessipns etc.

Very much classic/folk/ambient rock: influences include (but definitely not limitied to) Tom Petty, Beatles, Zep, Floyd, Neil young, joe walsh/eagles, police, ELO, Fairport/Richard Thompson, fleetwood mac, Air, stones, dr John, Tom Waits, allman bros, kinks, early billy joel/elton john, calexico, black keys, early clapton, Phoenix, Brian setzer, Ben folds, shins, REM, Joe Jackson, Porcupine Tree, Queen, Grandaddy, Daft Punk, David Bowie, Vangelis, JM Jarre, Dylan, Midlake etc etc etc hopefully that gives you an idea!

We casually jam once a week/fortnight ish depending on work commitments. Have been playing many, many years, reasonably accomplished, but very much doing this because we enjoy it and share musical tastes/connection and it also provides a good social outlet. We have been thru the gigging thing once upon a time - we were part of an acid-jazz thing back in early-mid 90s and did residency at RiRas/Gaiety (Friday nights) etc for about three /four years - great fun but it was intensive and heavy going. We wouldn't mind gigging again, if the right opportunity arose and the vibe was right/good - this is important to us as it's as much about the vibe (and extended solos, lol) as it is the song. I guess the problem might be that I'm just not too sure people are still into the stuff we do anymore ahh, the folly of youth ;-) ...
