    is HDCP a necessity for gaming ?

    it has hdcp,
    you dont need hdcp,unless you are playing discs, eg blue ray on the monitor.
    HDCP is not used for games .
    I don,t know what ips is.
    You,ll need a hdmi to dvi connector if you buy this monitor,
    cost 3 euro approx.

    You shouldnt be suggesting monitors if you dont know what IPS is.


    Budget OP? If you want to save money the Korean panels are doing well, have a look at the Catleap thread.

    You'd probably be better off dropping the speakers, they're usually a novelty added to make the monitor more marketable, if they make efforts like that to make the monitor more marketable it's probably because the monitor itself isn't all that good.

    You can get much better external speakers for as little as €10.
