I've seen these for sale in Guitar Centre in Dublin and I'm just wondering if anybody has experience with them?

They're really well priced and look decent, considering picking one up!

They're nifty enough fellas and have some nice clones

There's a massive thread on page 2 or 3 of this forum, the Vintage overdrive one they that's a OCD knockoff looks cool to me

Although I quite like the caline cp-18 BB preamp knockoff too

Vintage OD is great, and the floor tuner works a treat too.

Just got the vintage overdrive today, delighted with it - haven't tried it with my tube amp yet but it sounds great. And it came with a battery :-)

They seem pretty decent value. Do they generally have true bypass?

are these anything like the Mooer pedals? How would you rate the Joyo's against other pedals you have? and what were the prices?

There's a Chinese (or Asian) wholesale site called Dhgate that I use for buying random crap now and again and some of the sellers on it have those pedals. Whether they are knock-offs I don't know! People sell knock-off guitars and basses on it so I'd be wary it all.

They all seem to have true bypass (the vintage overdrive definitely does anyway). Casing seems fairly robust, as do the controls.

At least they won't sound bad when they're off! Turning them on may be another matter though.

I haven't tried any Joyo pedals so I can't really opine.

I had a Mooer Cruncher for a couple of weeks and it was ok. I sold it fairly quickly for what I paid. Might invest in a Brownie or a Super Crunch Box some day in the future instead.

I have the US Dream, and it gives my valve preamp pedal a run for its money.

I have two. A bit more info on them. They are apparently not a completely true bypass. I can't remember the ins and outs of it. They seem to be well buffered though. I don't notice any tone suck. I read an article with Pete Cornish who reckoned people shouldn't get hung up on true bypass as by the time your signal goes through 30ft of cable, multiple connections and all your effects, not only will true bypass be slightly redundant, but a couple of buffered pedals may help boost your signal which may otherwise have become weak. Who am I to argue. I'm no electrical engineer :)
Back to the Joyos. They're actually available through Thomann but rebranded as Harley Benton. Same price (€30 mostly). They're solid, good switch and smooth knobs. I got the digital delay. It sounds like a really good analogue delay, whereas apparently their actual analogue delay sounds like an average analogue delay. Go figure. Anyway, it works a treat and seeing as I rarely use it (occasional U2 or rockabilly urges) I didn't want to break the bank.
The other one I got was the AC Tone (Joyo call the AC Truetone) It's a clone of the Tech 21 "Liverpool". This thing is fantastic. It emulates the sound of a Vox AC30 really well, from chimey cleans to full on Brian May overdrive. You can use it as a straight od pedal but works best through a neutral sounding amp and using it's controls to shape the tone. Used like this, it works best last in line on your board (as it's effectively your amp and your real amp is a PA) It has a 3 band eq, gain, output and voice/character. This last control let's it sweep from wooly cleans to chimey cleans (Beatles, Tom Petty) to ragged breakup (The Jam) to high gain (Queen). It's super versatile and for €30 a bargain to boot. (and no, I don't work for Joyo or Thomann :))
