fly window problem

I've had a problem with water getting in if the car (16/60) is ever left out in the open in heavy rain. Part of the problem was the doors were a bit loose. That's sorted. The problem now is the fly windows. I almost never open them, but they can let in a fair bit of water. The driver side front one has a broken hinge, and probably has to be replaced. The rest seem to have problem with the sealing around them. Some of it has gone, some might need to be treated with some solution.

Who's quickest for supplying a fly window for a 16/60?

    Thanks

    fly window??

Would this be like a quarterlight? As in a small triangular window that may be fixed or opening?

If it is, then try Earlpart, they should be able to fix you up.

Yea, used that place lots of time, so should've thought of them. The others work fine, except the rubber or plastic that seals around them is partly lost. I suppose like before I'll ring them up and see what sort of sealing around the quarterlights they could provide.

I'm fairly sure you can get remanufactured quarterlight seals for the car. Fitting them can be a bit fiddly though. Good luck.

Thanks, my Dad calls it a fly window, and he'd started working as a mechanic c. 1960, Raymond in Kevin Byrne's garage also calls it that too. Anyhow, sent an email to Earlpart, will ring tomorrow. It's pushing it now as the IVVCC run that goes from Castletown House, Kildare to Athlone, Galway, Killarney, Cork and Kilkenny, is on 17th. I hope the rain will have ended by then, but then this is the land of eternal rain.

Anyhow, Earlpart don't have it, call it quarterlight or fly window. I'll ring NGT. They don't appear to list the flywindow or frame, but could have it.

Their catalogue (although dated Jan 2013) listed them http://www.earlpart.co.uk/Catalogue_a60.pdf.

    "seal, QTR light rubber fr door A55MK2 A60 etc L-H : BF 0173" @ 17.35
    "seal, QTR light rubber fr door A55MK2 A60 etc R-H : BF 0170" @ 17.35
    "seal, QTR light rubber re door A55MK2 A60 etc L-H : BF 0167" @ 17.35
    "seal, QTR light rubber re door A55MK2 A60 etc L-H : BF 0168" @ 17.35

Must have been a run on them and they are waiting for the next batch??

NTG have them listed on their webshop, but seems to be out of stock as there is no click button next it.

I'll ring them next time. I've found that the fly window is probably repairable.
