Journalist Kate Adie is in Waterford today where she will be presented with a certificate of Irish Heritage - her father was a Waterford man.

She'll be on the Pat Kenny Radio Show at 11am today (Tuesday) to talk about it.

She said she was "first under the table" when the shooting starts! :) Which is why she's still alive. Probably a bit of modesty mixed with the truth.

I got the audiobook of her autobiography (nice to hear her read it!) and it's full of funny stories like a piano stuck in the mud and not understanding why there was a cameraman accompanying her on a report. Not considering herself to be brave is a running theme. She wrote another book called "Into Danger" interviewing people who are very brave indeed!

Her description of going to the loo in the middle of the night in the desert during the war and all the soldiers wearing night vision goggles watching her was funny.
