    Crema Marfil maintenance

Hi I am interested in buying these and have read there might be maintenance involved, which I want to avoid

Has anyone here these tiles, and what maintenance is required

Have them on my kitchen walls and floors. There is some maintenance involved on the floor as over time pockets form in the surface which then need to be grouted and sealed. You will get the grout fill to some of the pockets disappearing and requiring to be refilled as well. I normally regrout the floor once a year and then give it a good 3-4 coats of Lithofin stone sealant. have never needed to regrout the walls, although I usually give it a fresh coat of sealant when I'm doing the floor.

Don't let the maintenance put you off, crema marfil is a stunningly beautiful product

Thanks Shane, re the Lithofin , what is the process to apply,

Can a roller be used or is it a hand brush job

Does the floor need to be polished after the Lithofin

I find the best way to apply it is with a sponge, it's a very thin liquid, almost the same consistency as water and goes on very quickly. The floor comes up like new after it's been regrouted and sealed and we still get compliments from visitors on the appearance 6 years after installing it (and we've never polished it).
