the same back wheel seems to be sticking too on the 3600 but maybe the brake sticking
One tractor Would be bad enough but both tractor have the same type of leak.
Dont want to be driving them far as afraid i might cause more serious damage or would it be ok..

Just was told that with a bit of driving this has a good chance of curing itself???

An axle oil seal leak will never "cure" itself with driving. But on the plus side, you have 2 tractors with oil immersed brakes, so the oil is not leaking onto a brake drum/brake pads. So unless the oil is absolutely peeing out, you can drive away as normal until you get a chance to have them repaired.

Negative side, you will have a dirty looking rim and tyre.

Parking it leaky side up helps too:)

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Not sure on the smaller tractors but on a 5000 up you have to split the axles from the centre housing and strip everything from the inside out.

remove wheel , remove half shaft housing , remove brake plates , remove half shaft from housing , remove leaking seal from housing simples ! there is quite a bit of work involved and you,ll need some heavy duty tools especially to remove the half shaft bearing from the half shaft

    Hi ,
I have a same 105.4 tractor which has 350 hours on it. It is just one year old but has an oil leak on the transmission end of tractor. The oil seems to be coming out of a slot underneath the tractor where the back end joins the gearbox . Has anyone else encountered this and what was the problem. The tractor has done little pro work. Thanks for reply’s

Should be still under warranty I'd say.
