Could someone tell me what this phrase means in relation to a horse trainer, particularly in the early years of the 20th century? Thanks.

A person that is guilty of severe wrongdoing in horseracing will be warned off by the Jockey Club. They will be unable to attend any race meeting or set foot on Jockey Club property until their period of exclusion has ended

The phrase doesn't just apply to those with connections to horses.

Anyone caught acting the maggot at a racetrack can be 'Warned off the course'.

    Spectators included.

Thats the way they say it in Britain anyway. Not sure about here.

I think the term 'Getting fu€ked out the door' is more common in Ireland. ;)
