If a Nano has a bad battery, (totally kaput battery, won't charge, has no charge), and if it's plugged into a dock, will the Nano work? Can it get power through the dock to make it work? Or does the Nano always run off battery power, even when in a dock? Assume rest of Nano is fine, and dock is functioning correctly, and…

Or does the Nano always run off battery power, even when in a dock?

Assume rest of Nano is fine, and dock is functioning correctly, and can normally charge the Nano.
