I though this thread could come in handy for those that are into the scanning community.

Please list freqs you scan at home and if you are using a external antenna.

I think Ryanair Ops is on 131.550 and 131.45 is the handling at Dublin Airport ??

High level traffic over Dublin ; Shannon High Level on 131.150 most of the time, can change though.

I remember back in the 90's listening on an old analogue to the Air Corps practice formation flying-particularly in the run up to airshows. There was a frequency were you could listen to the comms between the different aircraft in the section and the lead aircraft call out the appropriate order e.g. "Looping Go".
I think the frequency used was somewhere between 130 and 135. However since then I can't ever seem to pick this type of thing up anymore. Anyone know of the exact frequency or has it changed since then?

    Thanks

online. from personal experience I recommend these guys - http://www.nevadaradio.co.uk/radio-scanners/scanners/?page=3&f[]=80

another shop with good reviews but no personal experience - http://www.hamradio.co.uk/scanners-uniden-bearcat-scanners-pc-554.php

also you can look up some of the models in amazon/ebay.

Bearcat EZI-33XLT will get you covered, but remember - if you plan to listen to ATC from your home, you WILL need a good, external antenna. You can build one yourself

I've bought four scanners, handhelds and base stations, on Adverts.ie so no worries there.

please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not local to Galway, but my understanding is - hospital itself is not involved in aeronautical communication, so that communication probably is handled by Galway Tower ATC, 122.5 MHz

For paramedic communication, they most likely talk to ambulance dispatch. If they haven't moved to tetras yet, you should be able to get them on 84.825 Nfm for Base and 74.6 for input. i'm pretty sure tetras have replaced these and you will hear nothing
