Im just wondering if there are other guidance counsellors out there and how they are experiencing the cutbacks.Im only new to the profession and wondered how the cutbacks have affected them. Have people gone private or gone back to mainstream teaching or done something different altogether, thanks

I qualified from TCD a few years ago. Finding it very hard to get work. Lot of schools have cut back their hours. Fewer adverts for vacancies. I've done some work with Fas and some freelance counselling. But it looks like Ruairi Quinn has all but destroyed my career prospects by meddling with the quota. My other subjects are history and geography. But they are hardly in demand.
