    Quick question:
Can you pass a module even if you fail the summer exam?

    Thanks!

I think you just need your average to be a pass, might vary between departments though

Yes, unless your department rules state otherwise. Your final grade is a combination of CA and the exam so once get 40% in total you should be good, but individual departments can set their own rules to a certain extent, so its best to check your course booklet to make sure.

As Lawliet said, it depends on your course and your subject! #some schools allow it, some dont, some lecturers allow it, others dont, pop the lecturer an email is the easiest way :)

Some courses have different pass grades - mine was 50%.

Hence why I said different departments have different rules.

Thanks for the info guys. I was mainly concerned with Maths and Stats and Business organisation and management in the Business and language course. I'm going in with having pretty much passed with work throughout the year but the actual exams are not in my favour :D

Give your tutor a quick email if your worried. If they don't know the regulations for your particle course, they'll at least be able to point you in the right direction. Best of Luck!

Do sit the exams though - its compulsory to turn up for them in most if not all courses. In my case (Information Systems), we could pass some modules on course work alone but still needed to attempt the paper.

Oh I definitely will, I just know that there might be a few ( most ) questions that I cannot answer due to my laziness :D
