TNA Slammiversary - June 2nd *Spoilers*

The longer build really makes it hard to call what matches will happen, but I'll give a couple of guesses anyway.

    TNA Title
Bully vs Sting vs Morgan - Morgan didnt technically lose and without this has nothing.

    Tag Titles
Chavo/Hernandez vs Roode/Aries vs Bad Influence vs Storm/??? - Throwing Storm is as a special referee is random as fcuk so I'm assuming he'll get more involved and end up with a new partner for Slammiversary.

Angle vs Styles - Styles turns on Angle and Sting, joining Aces and Eights as the new VP.

    X Title
King vs Sabin vs ......Suicide? - A guess really. King and Sabin will be in, dont know about number three.

Magnus, Joe, Hardy and EY vs Devon, Anderson, Brisco and Bischoff - Assuming they are all back, which they should be. Gives all eight guys something to do.

    Knockouts Title
Velvet vs Taryn - Taryn is the flavor of the month.

Looking at the roster, thats only leaving out Knux and Doc (who could take Bischoff and Brisco's place with ease), Rob Terry and Joseph Park. Not exactly major casualties right now. Park and either one of Knux and Doc could be added to make it a 10 man if they really wanted to.

Taryn is nothing more than a poor ripoff of the worst WWE diva ever, putting a title on her would be beyond a joke.

Its just them trying to repeat the Tessmacher formula except she is feuding with Gail Kim instead of Tara. I`d imagine we`ll get a heel Mickie vs Velvet

I hope they keep the title on Ray

I fear Sting might get it so he can feud with Hogan for it

Bully is keeping that belt until Bound for Glory. I`m tipping Styles to beat him for it. Power Slam brought up an interesting comparison between Styles and Sting`s gimmick change in WcW in the late 90`s about trying to be being recruited by a heel faction only to turn face in the end.

Yup they're clearly rehashing the old Sting gimmick with AJ.

Magnus, Joe, Hardy and EY vs Devon, Anderson, Brisco and Bischoff - Nothing yet.

    Knockouts Title
Velvet vs Taryn - Half right, Taryn vs Gail.

Three and a half out of four, one still to be decided :D

Sting vs Bully was already announced which is why I'm not counting it here.

God I hate the Suicide gimmick, why won't they let it die.
Wonder who Storms partner will be.
You'll get a foul mouthed rant from me if its Blob Van Dam.

    Eric Young I reckon.

    Small, small chance of Harris.

Both will surely be going after Aces and Eights upon their returns?

Thats true. Hardy would want to toughen up Sting got hit with 20 hammer shots and has returned.
My pick was 100% based on improving the match. Harris is a joke now which is such a shame for a guy who could of been a asset and i'm worried E.Y. would just do a load of comedy spots.

Four Team Elimination Tag Team Championship Match:
-Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez (c's) vs. Christopher Daniels and Kazarian vs. Austin Aries and Bobby Roode vs. James Storm and a mystery partner

    TNA TV Title Match:
    -Devon (c) vs. Joseph Park

Ultimate X Match for the X-Division:
-Kenny King vs. Chris Sabin vs. an opponent to be determined

    -Taryn Terrell vs. Gail Kim

Third person in the X-Division match will be Suicide, Williams or Dutt.
    It's Suicide.
Hoping for Harris as Storm's partner out of pure nostalgia.

On Impact they advertised Suicide for the match :pac:

    Knock Knock!

Is the poor guy's career going to defined by those few weeks on ECW despite all the good that came before?

    TNA Title
Bully vs Sting vs Morgan - Close, no Morgan.

    Tag Titles
Chavo/Hernandez vs Roode/Aries vs Bad Influence vs Storm/??? - Spot on!

Angle vs Styles - Spot on!

King vs Sabin vs ......Suicide? - Spot on!

I think I did pretty damn well considering how far in advance I did it :D

Just noticed the graphic has Anderson, they said Doc on Impact? If it's Anderson I'm closer again!

Best match of the show so far was Kim/Terrell - best womens match in a long while. Much better than even the most optimistic person in the world could've expected.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,469 ✭✭✭✭GTR63

Taryn/Kim is the new D-lo/Angle by all accounts. Fascinated to see that now.

Watching now so this will either be updated or I'll double/triple post depending on how I feel :p

Did I imagine it, or did a previous Ultimate X match only end when the title was taken down to the mat? Cant remember who it was, but someone took the belt down, but someone else took it off them before they got to the mat and was declared the winner. On Sunday it ended with Sabin still in the air? Did I imagine the first one, or are they making it up as they go?

Secondly, what happened to Sabin's head? I didnt see any blood when he got the belt, then a minute later he was covered in it.

Poor Doc. Booked in a match on Impact. Taken out in the first graphic, added back for the second and taken out again on the show.

Hogan was really off form. Destination X no longer exists (although credit to him for actually remembering the name) and he seemed to think he was making a match there and then when it had been announced on Impact.

    Part Two:

Wes Brisco somehow fcuks up the Twist of Faith twice in a row! Considering how many times Hardy has hit that move without trouble over the years, it's all on Brisco there. Bischoff got very little ring time. If they dont trust him, why even have him wrestle? Let Doc or Knux have the spot instead.

Gut Check Match should have been on a pre-show. It killed the crowd after a Jeff Hardy match. If Bradly even gets points on the board I'll be surprised. Crowd dont react to him at all. At least Shaw is able to get a reaction.

More making it up as they go. Why bother advertising Park if youre just going to swap it for Abyss? Unless the plan is to have Abyss forced to give up the title due to it not being an official match as Taz pointed out 6 million times.

Random fact: This time next year, Angle will have been in TNA longer than he was in WWE.

A big vote of confidence for Gunner here, bringing him back after so long off and straight away giving him the tag titles. A very good match and the MOTN thus far.

Scratch that. Gail vs Taryn wins the MOTN and the show isnt even over yet. Easily the Women's MOTY for me. Havent seen a womens match that good (outside of SHIMMER) since the Gail/Kong matches. Insanely good, especially considering Taryn Terrell was involved.

Tenay: "Styles has put away so many with that move". Maybe it's just me, but I dont recall Styles using the Lionsault that often, let alone winning matches with it? Otherwise, it wasnt anything special. Good, but nothing less than expected of those two.

Main event was needlessly overbooked. Exposing the wood of the ring was a nice touch though.

Decent enough show, but it didnt feel like anything special. Gail vs Taryn really deserves a watch while Angle vs Styles and the Tag Titles are worthwhile too.

Your right about feet touching the mat alrite, Sabin got bust open when he was coming down he bounced his face on the mat apparently.

I really like that Angle vs Styles match, some great spots too. It pisses me off that Bad Influence or Aries and Roode are champions (especially Bad Influence) I hoping that I get to see Aries back in the singles competition again and going for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. One of the best wrestlers in the rooster deserves to champion.

Im a TNA fan but im a wrestling fan foremost and id love to see Aries in WWE taking on Punk and Daniel Bryan. That would be epic for me

You don't have to wonder what it'd be like, they all wrested several times in the past in ROH (and elsewhere). Aries and Bryan once went 75 minutes!

A quick google search will get you those matches.

He tried out for Tough Enough but they were not interested. Instead they opted for whatshisname who is unemployed now :pac:

I think Aries is fairly beat down physically these days too compared to 5 years ago. These guys have a huge amount of miles and injuries on the clock, not to mind the crazy style they worked over that period.

It's a shame when you think how many of the guys from that period are nearly done. McGuinness is done, Styles can still do it but not as often, Joe has struggled for a while now, Punk is on the decline, Low Ki's best days are behind him. Bryan is the only one still going strong from that batch. Going to be a while before we get another bunch of guys that talented.

Just watched the Knockout match, jesus that match was great FAR exceeding my or anybodies expectations.
Taryn Terrell is like 2013's Okada, okay I kid but I didn't see that coming at all.

    Natalya probably could.

We all know Gail is great, but nobody expected that from Taryn Terrell. Before hand everyone considered her the worst Knockout on the roster.

Finished watching this earlier thought it was very enjoyable. I could watch Angle vs Styles all day long, AJ's new music is pretty badass too; at least I thought so. Bully Ray vs Sting was decent too bar the overbooked finish.
Not too sure about Gunner being a tag champ though.

Actually just watching NXT now and there are a couple of divas there that could do it

just watched this today, the womens match is one of the best matches this year, easily best match TNA has had this year.

And it looked to me that sabin dropped the belt on his own head when he won it and the belt did the damage to him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,301 ✭✭✭✭gerrybbadd

I've made the decision to start watching TNA and Slammiversary was my first ppv to see in a long time. Really enjoyed it, I have to say. AJ and Angle wasn't as good as I thought it could have been. I thought playing the pile driver up as a deadly move was a great touch in the Bully vs Sting match, especially ripping away at the ring to expose the boards beneath.

Gail vs Taryn, just wow! No wonder Drew got the head slapped off him!
