    Story on Sports Illustrated:

    http://college-football.si.com/2013/05/03/penn-state-ucf-ireland/

Would the demand be there to fill the Aviva? I'd go but I dont know if Penn State/UCF would quite catch the imagination of the ordinary Joe Soap of Notre Dame

For the Notre Dame game the majority of the crowd were Americans who came over for a holiday and the game so it would likely be the same again if we had any more games in the future so the interest of the ordinary joe soap isnt as important for this kind of game as it is for the NFL games where very few fans make the trip to London

Ok gonna jump the gun here early - if this game happens and someone get pre order tickets etc etc, shotgun first in line to be offered the extra tickets

Would love to see another game over here. Only this time it'd be nice if there was some more coverage given to it so Joe Soap would have known about it and tried to get tickets. If it wasn't for here I'd never have heard about the Navy Notre Dame match until the week of the game where Rte gave some coverage. Was a bit late at that stage trying to get some tickets.

I know most of my NFL watching mates wouldn't know anything about college ball so Alabama vs LSU would have the exact same draw as Penn State UCF, it's football in Dublin - let's go.

Most American football fans in Ireland will try to go and then filling the stadium comes from how good of travelling fans Penn State and UCF are.

Don't care who is playing, just want another game in the Aviva. ND v Navy last year was brilliant. Bengals 1st round pick Tyler Eifert hauled in a TD pass in the corner right in front on me. More please.

The stadium will most certainly be filled for it, UCF's enrollment eclipses that of Notre Dame and Navy combined. Granted, the student base isn't what the promoters will be targeting but there'll be a considerable amount of wealthy Floridian aluminis willing to come over. If I was to say I have a favourite college team it'd be UCF and I actually might have a chance to see them play virtually next door to me :P
But I really hope both teams come over as it'll be a great game to watch! :D

Boston College might work, but the team needs to have a strong Irish connection amongst it's alumni and boosters.

I doubt Penn State would have as much success of it as ND did.

I remember watching that play on tv and the commentator said something along the lines of:
That catch highlights the contrast between both teams. You have a 6'5 future NFL superstar for Notre Dame rising up to make a touchdown catch against a Navy player who works in a submarine

    Pretty good line... :)

didn't they run the same play twice in a row? First time Eifert dropped it or came down out of bounds.

Penn State is huge in terms of fan-base and my God if they aren't completely rabid. It'd work extremely well on that front. General sale tickets would obviously be very scarce no matter what the sell-through in the States is like.

When you hear ND offering such a glowing recommendation you know they'll be over again sooner rather than later but even more than that having the #1 college in terms of marketing and promotion in the sport talking you up is going to make every major program sit up and take notice. Hopefully we can one day get to a stage where we host a college game a year at Lansdowne.

It made sense with Notre Dame last year...I'm not sure Penn State should go. They should probably keep a low profile for a few years.
