I wonder could I get any advice on how to start from anybody?

Look up puts and call options, then look at buy stop, sell stop, sell limit orders and try to get the grasp of these. Also look at what short does

There are sites like stocktrak which you can register on for a tenner a month or so and give you 1,000,000 play money to use on the stock market and the site is the exact same as one where you would be using real money

Ha, u need google each term I mentioned and try to understand them. The Stock Market is not as simple as simply " Buying Stocks" if you want to make money. You need to know how to cover yourself to minimize losses. Yea definitly go on a play money one and try to figure everything out! It could take me a while to explain here!

Heres something on Put and Call options. But until your on play money site then its hard enough to understand unless your actually doing it! http://www.diffen.com/difference/Call_Option_vs_Put_Option

I get where you are coming from but what I am really asking is where do I start, how do I buy. Basically where do I sign up.

Seriously like did you not even try to google it to find companies that do it? Some companies want a min of 100k, some 10k etc

Heres a book on the stock market. Its all self learning. You also need to look up the terms I mentioned. It can take ages to understand the stock market properly.

I have covered the terms in the thread, its up to you learn them. If you are not willing to put the research in yourself then stay well clear!

yes you will be able to provided you have the correct funds.

Piece of advice and the basics:
If you want to buy stocks say in Apple that are $600 and you think they will go up then you can buy the stock and maybe set a stop limit/strike price at $580 so if the stock plummets below 580 then the stock will automatically sell.

If you think the price of say microsoft is going to fall you can also short the stocks and make money by the stock falling.

If you purchase a call option say google stock for much cheaper and think it will rise you can also buy a call option for much much cheaper than buying the stock then sell it and make the profit.

You can pick up some basics from this youtube channel. They have an investing basics set of videos. As a caveat, I'm not a trader, so I can't speak to the quality of the advice.

    Hi,

To buy shares you will need an account with a broker e.g. Davy. Shares are traded on exchanges and you'll need a broker to get access to them.

For an intro to investing I'd start here http://www.investopedia.com/university/fiveminute/

I use these guys to find stocks www.risingsum.com and www.morningstar.co.uk.
