Does Windows 8 upgrade 'keep nothing' option format hard drive

Im selling my laptop, which had a win8 upgrade license. I have upgraded it with the 'keep nothing' option. Will this have formatted the hard drive? I know it won`t be a full format but does it do a quick format? Can`t seem to find an answer online - quickly anyway:pac:. EDIT: It retained a 'Windows old' folder which had…

Im selling my laptop, which had a win8 upgrade license.

I have upgraded it with the 'keep nothing' option.

Will this have formatted the hard drive? I know it won`t be a full format but does it do a quick format? Can`t seem to find an answer online - quickly anyway:pac:.

EDIT:

It retained a 'Windows old' folder which had loads of my documents in it.

only when you select the option "fully clean the drive" - which is pretty self explanatory.
