Does anyone have any experience or knowledge on how strict NUIG are on deposits for postgrad courses ?

Do you mean as in having it paid on time? Well I accepted a masters a few weeks ago and on the PAC system it said "deposit by x date" but I hadn't it paid by then and it didn't disappear coz I hadn't paid the deposit. I paid about a week later and it was grand so they don't seem too strict about it but in saying that you might still need to contact the postgrad office or the SID to be sure.

Surely they'd have to give you a final warning letter/email! I'm hoping anyhow because I not to sure if I want the course or not and 500 euro is a lot of money !

Yeah you'd more than likely get some sort of warning before its offered to someone else as someone could genuinely forget about it or something! As for the cost, yeah the deposit is way too much I think. As far as I know, if you've got a provisional offer pending results and you don't get the required grade, you'll get it back. But if you just cancel your place, I think you lose the deposit so its fair risky if your not sure if you want to do it!
