    A long shot

I've upc broadband - the cable comes in under ground in my sitting room. There is a TV point in my siting room next to where the upc cable enters the room. This TV point is coax behind partition wall into the attic connected to an antanae on roof for saorview. I've removed the tv point and joined the upc coax cable to the one in the partition wall and dropped the cable from the attic into a bedroom to have a phone upstairs from the UPC box - handy to remove wifi too as work from home and they don't like wifi. This has left the sitting room with to saorview as I'm using the cable for other purposes.
Is it possible to run signal from ariel down this cable and upc broadband up the cable at same time?

If u put a splitter downstairs on upc cable, and feed 1 upstairs 2nd to tv you should get Rte channels by auto tuning analogue.worth a try.(not saorview exactly but 4 Irish channels)

Yes. Just split it with one leg direct via a push in connector to Ariel in on your television. Other leg to your modem .

Auto tune then and you will get around 17 analog channels I think it is now .

Not a good idea for your BB, or anyone else on your node. Splitting will lower signal levels, modem transmits back to UPC at higher level, their equipment may not like this. They may contact you or you may have issues with your BB.

Also, introduction of TV can cause "noise". Needs to be properly isolated. Best to use good quality equipment, and make sure leads/cable is quad shielded, and RF tight.
    Better still, ask UPC's advise.

    I think this is correct

I tried this last night and the picture quality is VERY poor - worse than old rabbits ears on the TV and huge degradation on broadband performance. Can't really ask UPC as I'm not paying them for TV - broadband/phone only from them. Cabling seems good/shielded fine with good satelite coax but as soon as I connect the F to coax plug cable into the spliter the broadband goes to bits.

What kind of splitter did you use .? In-less your signal levels are very low it should not affect a your bb at al. Also the f connector would want to done correctly.
