volunteer urban planner

I am an urban planner who is looking to volunteer abroad. Has anyone got any experience in volunteering abroad in such a capacity. I'm not interested in building a village group type experience although invariably such work may be involved. I hope your volunteering boardies will be able to help me out thanks heaps :) x
