Hi my name is Stephen when i was asked to do this profile i was delighted and scared. We have so much talent here on the boards. I love coming here to look at everyone's images.

Anyway a little bit about me i suppose.

I am 43 and living in Wexford the second eldest of 9 and i was always the family photographer in one way or another. I moved to Wexford from Dublin when i was 13. And my Mam got me a camera when she saved up her petrol vouchers from Texaco. I loved it. Not sure of the exact model but it was a little fold up Kodak.

Well this helped me settle into my new home town of Wexford. ( Thanks Mum x )
God knows where i got the money from to buy film and pay to get my photos developed. And OMG the bulbs who remembers these stack of eight i loved the smell.

I started work at 16 and saved enough money to buy my first real camera a Canon AE-1

I was now a real photographer. Well that was till i met a girl and sold all my stuff so as i could bring her out. After 2 weeks when the money was gone yes she dumped me. No camera and no girlfriend. But i had a good 2 weeks.

I always had a decent pocket camera and always wanted to get a dslr over the years , it was when i tuned 40 the wife Trudy bought me a Canon 500d and boy was the bug back. Thanks Trudy x

As i got to learn more and wanted to improve the best i could i got some new glass and went full frame to a 5dmk2 i mostly had the 16-35mm lens on this.
I was always a bridge and photoshop man till i found lightroom which i love. I am constantly looking to learn what i can. I haven't or do not think i have a style. I tried various kinds of photography.

    Portraits

Ive had a little run of bad luck as i ended up tearing my achilles tendon the next Sunday (Paddy's night) say no more.I have been on crutches since and hope to have the cast off with in the next week or 2.
I bought a 5dmk3 at photofest and i am really looking forward to getting out and about again.
God i don't half go on, i hope you enjoy my photography.
    Cheers
    Stephen. aka Steoc

    really impressive collection.

hard to believe those you've only had a DSLR for three years. I can understand you being apprehensive about posting given the incredible standard here on boards but rest assured ,IMHO, you easily meet it.

Absolutely love the land & sea scape shots.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience at the Hook, can be very dangerous down there especially when a heavy swell is about. Can only dream about taking shots like those at the moment. Just got my first DSLR back in January, coincidentally I also had a Canon AE1 back in ther mid 80's. Still have it , didn't flog it for no woman !

Never know, might bump into you some time, spend weekends in yellow belly coountry, lovely spot.

Talent always shines through, no matter how short a time at it, great shots.

    Can only dream.....................
