Brac + Makarska, Croatia - Worth a detour?

Hello, myself and three friends (all twenty-somethings) are flying into Dubrovnik on the 17th of June and flying out again on the 26th. We're planning doing a little travelling around Croatia and are currently working on an intinery. We were currently thinking heading straight to Split once we arrive in + spend 3 days…

Hello, myself and three friends (all twenty-somethings) are flying into Dubrovnik on the 17th of June and flying out again on the 26th. We're planning doing a little travelling around Croatia and are currently working on an intinery.

We were currently thinking heading straight to Split once we arrive in + spend 3 days there, then spend 4-5 days in Hvar then finally back to Dubrovnik for 2-3 days.

My question is has anybody got any experiences of Brac or Makarska good or bad as we are also looking at the possibility of visiting either as they are between destinations?

I know threads on Croatia have been flogged to death considering how popular it's becoming but any advice would be welcome

How's it going...did you make it to Makarska? I'm planning to head there in early August for a few days so if you have any advice or tips I'm all ears..
