Saw two "birds" taking off from a wet area of a field at dusk yesterday evening. It's not a regular pond, but it's an area that floods from time to time. I thought they were ducks initially but looked a bit bigger than regular ducks.

The body was mainly white with fairly wide black tips on the wings and black markings underneath.

They seemed bigger than ducks but probably not as big as geese.

Not much detail to work with I know.
    Any ideas?
