Your local pub will be able to get you the contact details for the local Diageo rep but I'm not sure if they will be bothered to install a tap/coolers in your house, it might be the sorta thing you have to do yourself or find a 3rd party to do it e.g.

In the corner of your sitting room or something? Tacky as hell. If you have a garage clear it out and set it up there like a proper little shebeen - only way to travel. ;)

It will cost quite a bit per pint. Many people have this idea that it will be cheaper. People I know who had them also moan of "stale" beer as 50L will last some people a long time.

I know a guy who had one in his house and would charge people 2.50 per pint to cover himself -he is not scabby/stingy BTW (I know many presumed he was when I told them of this), he's actually the most generous lad I ever met, he was probably making a loss at that when you factor in all the real costs (and people did get free pints). I would prefer decent bottled beers than the mainstream beers he had.

Maybe go the homebrew route? Keg your own beer and modify a fridge, putting taps in the door.

Stout will last a maximum of 5 weeks once tapped. And that's when stored in a decent fridge. I'd expect in a home system, which wouldn't be as well maintained, it would last 3-4 weeks. If Guinness do Baby kegs, I'd advise you get them.

One of these http://www.beveragefactory.com/refrigerators/beer/sbc500bv.shtml?bstr=1would be good if they are available here. I saw them in the US and they are the real deal. Some come with shelves so you can use them to store bottles and cans when you don't have a keg.

Some Carry Out off licences now stock kegs.

These will probably cost a lot more per pint.

    This crowd do kegs.

Heineken & murphys are €140 in 20L kegs. That is €3.50 per 500ml if you want to compare to cans. Or ~€4 per pint. There will be some wastage too, esp. on stouts.

The 50L kegs are €255. So €2.55 per 500ml. This excludes other charges that involved that probably are higher per 500ml than storing cans or bottles.
