Licence renewals - or not

    Interesting to see that we may witness some changes in the radio landscape in the coming months, as five licences are being put out for full competitive tender when they expire shortly.

    The licences currently held by Beat 102-103, Ocean FM, Sunshine Radio, Midlands 103 and Highland Radio are all up for grabs, having received more than one credible expression of interest.

    Licences to be advertised June 1st, with decisions November I think.

    I know of three of the interested parties, and they are all extremely credible.

    Personally I'm surprised there weren't challenges for Cork and Kilkenny-Carlow too.
