It seems the fees for DBS and PCI College are roughly about 4,500 - 5,000 grand a year for the degree in counselling and psychotherapy.

In CIT (Cork) the fees are about 2 - 3 grand a year. This is a well recognised course too from what I know.

Am i missing something here? Is this something to do with quality of the courses?

Or is this just a case of Dublin been ridiculously more expensive than the rest of the country?

It's not to do with Dublin being more expensive, I'm not sure about PCI College but DBS is a private college meaning smaller classes, less points required and more expensive. 2-3 grand are the regular college funded colleges and it's the same in all of them all over the country (Including dublin)

All colleges that offer BA degrees in Counselling and Psychotherapy are private fee paying institutes. OP your estimate seems about right, usually the fees are 4300-4700 for a BA in counselling. I can't comment on why the Cork fees are that low, maybe check it out.

The Institutes of Technology are much cheaper than private colleges cause they are subsidised by the state, the CIT course is good though and is IACP accredited.
Dont forget also if you are doing the pci or dbs degrees you will need to factor in your own personal therapy and clinical supervision, this can add up over the 2/3 years to a hefty amount.
