Soon after my teenage son had yet another 10 min shower after his football training we noticed a funny smell. Finally tracked it down to the Stuart turner shower pump which had stopped working. It's a 3 bar positive pressure (i think as has no vessel) brass body model. It does hum when a tap is on so I figured it might be the capacitor but the smell is worrying. Had a quick look into the control box and capacitor looks ok. Won't have time to take the pump out until later. When I do I presume I can check to see if it's stuck by trying to push the fins?

Was the smell a bad sign?
