3 day week, bank holiday and social welfare question

    Hi Folks,

I've been on a 3 day week for the past month or so (have been with company for many years). I've been working Wednesday to Friday but i'm not sure what happens with the bank holiday coming up, nobody in here seems to know! If i work the 3 days as normal and get paid for the bank holiday, does that mean i can't claim for the Tuesday on the social welfare as i have effectively worked 4 days (so basically i would be waiving €75 for the privilege of working:confused:)? Or should i get paid for 3 days and work 2 and then claim for 2 days as per usual off the social?

There are others here on 3 days who are due to work the Monday and it seems straight forward enough for them - just skip the day and get paid, but it seems to me whereas they will be getting a normal (normal as in 3/5ths) weeks pay for 2 days work, those of us not scheduled to work Monday will actually be down money but working an extra day which doesn't appeal to me one little bit!
