Landsat 7 images compare the dramatic geographic changes occurring between 2000 and 2012 for Dubai, UAE. The Palm Islands (artificial archipelagos) in the Persian Gulf really stand out, in addition to the marked change in Dubai city development in a mere 12 years.

Makes you wonder if they have anticipated the theorized effects of global warming and sea level increases in their Palm Islands design?

Fascinating images and a global problem that we don't hear enough about.
