this is the bike i have https://www.thebikeshop.ie/details.aspx?pid=P2939&cid=&sid=
i kinda went into cycling blindfolded and didnt look around or do any research and after 6 months i got the bug,

i have no intention of getting into racing but i am putting more kms in each week

i was just wondering what i can improve, the tyres are the only thing iv changed after numerous puntures on the originals
i have already used my btw so im not in a position to change bikes

    any advice ?

I have a slightly higher spec kellys and do alot of KM's on it. Change the saddle to a more comfortable one for yourself and clipless pedals if don't have them already. Other upgrades won't be economical as it's a fairly good bike already with half decent wheels. Save up the money and in another while you can go for a carbon racing machine or a cycling holiday someone nice.

TBH what you have will do fine if you keep it well maintained. It's always more expensive to upgrade post purchase. If it were my choice then I would save toward a new machine.

Why not upgrade other parts and then buy a frame set when money allows and swap everything over?

Thats what I am doing, gradually building a full carbon bike and when I get it done, I will sell my Defy.

I am getting the frame, forks etc from hong-fu for the princely sum of €480 delivered. I am either going to buy the components of the groupset separately when they are on sale or save up and buy a full grouppo - thinking the latter is the best way. Already got a set of Campagnolo Scirocco 35 wheels, hope to have the full bike by September-ish depending on finances.
