Does anyone have experience with Ever Ready, Baggot Lane, Dublin?

    Hi all,

My E46 316 was damaged over night when someone drove along the side of it. I've gotten a few quotes but the person who damaged it got their own quote and say that their quote is cheaper.

They've been going to Ever Ready on Baggot Lane for years (apparently) and they'd like to get it repaired there. I don't mind where it's done, once the job is done properly.

Do any of you have experience with the place? Good or bad, any advice would be much appreciated.

Its not up to them who fixes it.
You'll be the one stuck with the car, and if the paint starts falling off next year, it'll be your problem.
    Bring it somewhere you trust.

    Funny that they're a regular in a bodyshop :)

    Thanks.

True, but I don't have any experience with this so places I trust is a very short list :)

If other people trust the place he has suggested I'll be happy enough. Otherwise, I'll have to look around a bit more.

Used by insurance is a good start.
    How old is your 316?
Have you threatened going through insurance?

    It's 05.

Originally he offered to pay through insurance, but then changed his mind as he's in his early 20s. I'm not too worried about getting money as it was his father who asked about not going through insurance.

Obviously though as soon as cash is involved they want the lowest price.

Used by insurance would probably mean replacing parts rather than just repair, no? Here's the damage.

Got my car sorted there. Very good work, have had both my cars done there. Most recent was for rust under the arches and the work was top notch.

But at the end of the day, it's not up to them. Its up to you where you get this fixed.

Also, your alloy will have to be refurb'd. Ever ready wont do that as far as I know, so you'll have to find a place that specifically deals with wheels.

One thing about getting the wheel done, the match may not be 100%, meaning it will be slightly different to the others. Might be worth trying to source a replacement wheel if that would bother you.

I don't think it would bother me too much as I'll probably be letting it go soon to free up some cash. That said, it could hurt the selling price if the wheels don't all look identical.

I wonder would it be worth my while getting the other three wheels touched up as well (a fair few scratches etc) if it meant improving my selling power.

I doubt it would make financial sense to get all wheels touched up. They look in pretty good shape as is. Sourcing another wheel is certainly an option though.

The car looks pretty damn good in the pics provided. It's a shame to see it damaged:(

    Yeah Alan,

I had just gotten it serviced the day it happened, thinking to myself "That's grand, serviced and all now. I can start thinking about selling it". Then I woke up to my mirror half way up the road. Raging.

Cool, I hadn't really priced it in terms of getting the wheels done. It was just a thought.
