Always liked them and after seeing one around my area a lot I now have an itch I can't quite scratch for one.
From what I can see they have a similar setup to the Galant VR4, with a bigger displacement, which I am familiar with.
Unfortunately there isn't many for sale so it will make it difficult to look at a few for comparison and weed out any potential money pits.
Anyone familiar with them as I'm rather ashamed to admit I know diddly about them.
What to look out for and such.
There will be obvious signs of a life of abuse but I'm thinking more on the smaller, more obscure things and the lesser known faults.

    Ha, mind reader.

I was looking at them last night myself! 3L tt awd, be a bit of craic :-)

there's a couple of old threads on boards about them.

iirc, supra tt or 300zx were the better choice.

can't think of anything specific to the gto that was mentioned to look out for. a Google for gto buyers guide is a good idea tho

I originally wanted a supra tt but after doing alot of searching and researching the one to go for is well out of my price range.
Yea that was something that was on my mind colm, that and the differential.
I've had two vr4s and both of them had temperamental diffs.

    Smack me silly.
The only one on DD is an english reg.
Did a VRT enquiry and check out what the revenue consider the open market value...

Edit, just realised that's the revenues retail price for when it was new.

    Yea sorry my mistake.
That one never appeared on my DD app for some reason. The only one I saw was one still on English plates.
    That looks much cleaner.

Always had an eye on those too.. I think it's the slightly ludicrous over engineered aspect I like. There was a black 92 one for sale in Tullow for about 4 years up until recently..

There was one for sale for months in Donegal at a small used car dealer, I had no intention of buying it but would have loved just to take a drive in it, I drove by it about 10 times over the space of 3 months, then decided to go in and take it for a spin. The garage door was locked and a note saying "back in 10 minutes", went down the next day and it was sold. I was actually sickened.

Maybe look out for rust under the hood at the suspension struts and under the fuse box and battery cradle. Known issues with the fto and evo, which can easily be missed.
