Has anyone taken this course (or known someone) without a background in science? How did they find it?
It sounds interesting but I have an english degree and no experience apart from Leaving Cert biology.
    Any help/advice would be appreciated!

People have taken this degree without a degree in science, though I'd imagine reading about the area in your spare time might be helpful. Contact the course coordinator and talk to him, he's very helpful.

    Hello,

Most people who do the course have a science background, but every year there are a couple with other backgrounds, e.g. communications, film studies, journalism etc.

The "non-scientists" often end up doing better in the course as they are more used to the type of assignments and so on, whereas the scientists haven't written an essay since Leaving Cert!

So I would think that, if anything, you would have an advantage.

You should get in touch with Padraig Murphy, he's the co-ordinator of the MSc and is very cool and easy to talk to, he'll be able to give you more of a background on the course, what graduates are doing now and so on.

    Good luck!
