    Hello from Finland,

My 17 year old daughter will be staying with grandparents in Ireland for the summer. She has applied for a number of summer jobs, mostly in a town just across the border from my parents live.

She was born in Ireland but moved to Finland with us when she was 2 years old.

    My questions are...

Does she need any special work papers to work in Northern Ireland?
How does she go about getting her National Insurance Number or does she even need one?

    Also...

She's never received any Social Security Number from Ireland. How can she get one?

    Thanks in advance.

No permits/papers needed to work in NI as she is an EU citizen.

National Insurance number can be applied for in the North if she is starting work there.

She can apply for an Irish PPS at local social welfare office.
